March 1, 2012. ARIMED Orthotics and Prothetics Manhattan Offices have moved to a larger more convenient space at 218 E 29th Street NY, NY. The new location offers our patients easy access to public transportation and to nearby medical facilities. There are ample parking facilities nearby.

Arimed Creates Informational Video for Patients

Arimed developed a patient-centered video featuring our prosthetic patients. Past patients were invited to provide testimonials and some of our practitioners were interviewed. The intent is to give new amputees a better handle on the practical and physiological aspects of what they can expect after surgery. It is designed to help patients understand and better deal with the unknown that all amputees experience.

Brooklyn Borough President Recognizes Arimed

June 9, Right alongside of Arimed’s milestone 60th Anniversary, the Brooklyn Borough President issued a proclamation recognizing Arimed’s “commitment to promoting community health and well being.” He went on record for commending Arimed for “providing professional orthotic and prosthetic care to countless injured…giving hope and a second chance through care and intervention…throughout six decades…”

Arimed Supports Job Training Services

June 3-Arimed was invited to attend the 143rd Anniversary Celebration of the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service. The event recognized the BBCS’s job training and placement services for people with disabilities and the employers who put them to work.

Arimed has had a long standing practice of employing individuals with disabilities who have great attitudes and can get the job done. Employees such as these make up the diverse team that has gotten Arimed to it’s 60th Anniversary. From the manufacturing side that builds the prosthetic and orthotic devices to one of our prosthetists in patient care to marketing, these employees are important to our company.

Arimed Supports Pediatric Orthopaedic Research

Arimed is very dedicated to pediatric orthopedic care. So we have teamed up to support the Pediatric Orthopaedic Research Team at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, who are dedicated to conducting clinical research to advance the quality of life care for children around the world.

The research team is raising funds for pediatric orthopedic research through a wine tasting event:

Arimed President Represents at Brooklyn Borough State of the Borough Address

Coming up on Thursday, February 12^th, Arimed President, Steven Mirones has been invited as a special stage guest for Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz’s “State of the Borough Address”. The event is to be held at the Kingsborough Community College. The affair is traditionally a vivid portrayal of the “Brooklyn Story”, with guests, narratives, and performers representing the diversity and spirit of Brooklyn.
