Each month, HealthBeat Brooklyn explores a different health care issue and how it affects the lives of people in Brooklyn. Recently, they featured Arimed on an episode to discuss the company & what it is we do.

Arimed developed a patient-centered video featuring our prosthetic patients. Past patients were invited to provide testimonials and some of our practitioners were interviewed. The intent is to give new amputees a better handle on the practical and physiological aspects of what they can expect after surgery. It is designed to help patients understand and better deal with the unknown that all amputees experience.

On April 29-May 1st, NYU’s Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation held a 3 day course on lower extremity orthotics and prosthetics for medical residents. Arimed’s participation included providing prosthetic and orthotic devices  so that course participants have a chance to gain hands-on experience with the devices after just learning about them.
